Koh Teck Heok
Forrest Gump considered life like a box of chocolate, whereas Teck feels that the world is like boxes of chocolates. Traveling to her is like unwrapping a box of chocolate and savoring different flavors of each piece. Teck had her first “box of chocolate” when she represented her school to tour ASEAN and Japan for two months on a ship. Life was never the same after that. With friends all over the world, there was no better reason to work for a travel agent and sourcing the best airfare to visit them. She had a taste of working overseas in non travel related industries venturing into Philippines moving onto Hong Kong. In 2004, she was hit by the travel bug once again and took the chance to return to the travel industry. She started her career with Country Holidays in Hong Kong for two years and moving onto Shanghai office. Today,Teck still enjoys sharing her "chocolates" with her clients and opening up more boxes of "chocolates". Do not forget to call her to check out her "chocolate" stories.

Favorite travel experience: Bhutan….. This is where you understand the word – "Shangrila"

Ming Wong
Ming found out about the unique tour and off-the beaten-track destinations offered by Country Holidays after reading an article about Antarctica in the newspapers in 2003. From that moment, she had already set her sights on working for the company

After graduation, she finally joined Country Holidays based on her enthusiasm and passion for travel. She had been ‘addicted to’ tour planning since organising a 1 month Silk Road trip for her friends and various adventure trekking trips in Hong Kong. Now she enjoys working as a tour consultant to advise and help clients plan their travels to different countries. Besides trekking, sharing her unique travel experiences and the excitement gained from her travels are her favourite hobbies.

Favourite travel experience: South Africa Safari (Wow! Seeing a lion walking pass is amazing!) and trekking in Nepal (the view of snowcapped Mt Everest is incredible!)

Lim Kok Yong
If there is one thing that Kok Yong never get bored of - that will be travelling to a new destination! Kok Yong cites his reason for his travel passion: "Freedom - The further away from home, the more daring I can be . Though I don’t have the machine to turn back the clock like Michael J. Fox, travelling to remote area with less influence from the outside world does give the similar feeling. Sometimes it just makes you start appreciating the people and things back home. Life as tour consultant is challenging and exciting. You can never anticipate when the next opportunity to travel will come knocking at your door! I derived a great sense of achievement when I managed to stir interest within someone when sharing the joy of my traveling experience with them."

Favourite travel experience: While coldness of the Pakistan Mountains creeps up his back, the genuine smile and hospitality from the locals warms him up!

Yuen Siu Ling
Like most Hongkong-ers, Siu Ling is a fan of Thailand. She is crazy about Thailand’s natural beauty and her friendly people. Having a trip to Thailand on a regular basis is her dream…

However, apart from Thailand, Siu Ling knows that there are many other places in the world worth a visit! This she found out after her first long-haul trip, to Australia. Although she only visited Sydney and the surrounding area, she was deeply impressed by the spectacular scenery of the Blue Mountains and the coastal view of Wollongong. After that trip, she decided to travel to as many places as possible during her life so that her footsteps can be spread all over the world!

That Australia trip was also a key element for pushing Siu Ling out of the hotel industry to join the travel industry and Country Holidays. She has since made her first steps onto Egypt, Vietnam and Philippines within the last six months, and more are expected to come!

Favourite travel experience: Crazy shopping in Bangkok (women’s nature)! For a complete relaxing holiday, how can you miss Thailand’s beautiful beaches and sea together with the bright sun?

Louen Tang
Before completion of his honor thesis in England, Louen and his backpack had stormed Europe with the aid of scholarships. He became a die hard fan of Bulgaria after trekking in Pirin Mountain and meeting some Bulgarian friends. He enjoys sharing his systematic approach to trip planning, while spreading words on backpacking and adventurous experiences he has collected by speaking at lectures and friends’ gatherings.

Tan Siew Yim, Co Founder
Siew Yim started her first job with a reputable travel agent after getting a Business degree. She had good fun organizing adventure trips for her clients and working with a bunch of travel craze colleagues. She left to experience life in a bank but realized that a desk bound job is not suited for her. She made a "comeback" in the travel agent scene after realizing her passion was in travel and set up Country Holidays with her husband Theng Hwee. It was a “dream come true” when she landed in Antarctica in 1996. Travel allows her to enjoy her other hobbies – photography and writing. To her, it’s a joy to travel to a destination and having the experience and photographs published in a prestigious magazine!

Favourite travel experience: Skiing & Dog sledding in the Colorado rockies!

Chang Theng Hwee, Founder
As a boy, Theng Hwee was already fascinated with maps and his most prized gift from his father was a Singapore Road directory when he was seven! He would spend his free time tracing maps and memorizing the bus numbers and route. It was a dream come true when he took his first train ride to Malaysia. Travel has always been in Theng Hwee’s blood and he spent much time organizing trips for his friends in his university days. He pursues his travel dream by setting up Country Holidays after working for a few years at the bank. He started from scratch by handling all sales and operations and is pleased that he has established Country Holidays as a reputable agent and took a big step forward to set up overseas offices. Today, he is busy but happy globe trotting around taking care of his three children (when he travels for leisure) and three overseas offices (when he travels for business).
