This short trip covers 2 highlights along this ancient trade route. Turphan & Tianshan area offer a varied terrain from the snow-capped mountains, pine forest and meadows of the Tianshan area to the desert oasis town of Turphan with flaming mountain, grape valleys and thousand year-old archaeological sites.
We explore Xnjiang in probably the best way - biking & horse riding. Our journey will take us through the small alleys of Old Turpan to see the way of Uighur life, bring us over spectacular landscape of mountain and plateau to historical ruins & gorgeous scenery. We will be able to access place and villages not frequented by "big bus tourists".
Join us on this less traveled section of the Silk Road and visit villages and deserted ancient cities, archaeological sites deep in the Taklamakan Desert. This trip will give you a chance to meet the living fossil - Lopnur people whom are the descendant of Loulan people.
Awed by the impressive grottoes at Dunhuang and the impressive Terra Cotta in Xian. As you travel through this journey, imagine the caravans, and traders that plowed this route hundreds of years ago. The highlight of this trip is without doubt the Sunday market at Kashgar!
Our journey starts with Khotan, home to beautifully handcrafted silks. Then we skirts across the treacherous Taklamakan Desert to finish our adventure in Kashgar and the Khunjerab Pass.
